Southern British Columbia
Like many rare and beautiful objects, the South Kootenay can be hard to find! The communities that comprise the South Kootenay are nestled in the South-Eastern corner of British Columbia in close proximity to the Canada-USA border.

By Road, Air and Bus
Our location provides visitors with many different air and ground transportation opportunities:
By road, Spokane Washington is only a three drive, Calgary six hours, and Vancouver seven hours. Each of these major centers have airports with international connections.
By Air, Castlegar has a municipal airport connecting to Vancouver, Calgary and Kelowna and can ticket you through to your international connections. The airport is 30 minute drive, but in winter months fog can lead to cancelled flights. Multiple direct daily flights between Trail and Vancouver are offered by
Pacific Coastal Airlines, and the Trail airport experiences less flight interruptions due to fog.
By Bus. Greyhound Canada offers inter-city bus service between the South Kootenay and the rest of Canada, as well as connections to most cities in the USA.
