Teck Metals Ltd. Trail Operations
Teck is one of the major employers in the South Kootenay region with approximately 1,500 employees. In addition to the diverse range of employment opportunities, Teck also offers an Engineer Development Program, Leadership Development program and various other training and development opportunities for its' employees. Teck's Applied Research and Technology department is also located in Trail and employs many experts in their state-of-the-art laboratories and process mineralogy facility.

Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital
The Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) operates under the Interior Health Authority (IHA) network of health care facilities and serves a population of over 80,000. As Trail is the home of the regional hospital, health care is the second largest employer in the region. Approximately 670 employees work at the hospital, plus 75 doctors. In total the the health sector employs roughly 1,000 people in the various facilities located in the South Kootenay.
