More Relaxing
Feeling Tense?
What is it that makes us tense? Is it the expectations and demands placed on us by outside sources? Is it rushing to meet these obligations while all matter of obstacles get in our way? Is it just an atmosphere of hustle and agitation, dissatisfaction with ourselves and with others?
Let it Go!
Here was again talk of "South Kootenay Time", and it's characteristic of this area that while to the reformed urban dweller can initially be frustrating, actually becomes a way of life and is acceptable. The pace is slower, it takes a little longer to get things done right and no-one really appears to be too busy to stop. Why? Because less time is wasted in "hustle and bustle". Once you embrace this concept you are truly an SKP and may longer need to carry a timepiece. Your priority will be to make the most of where you live and take the time to really get more out of your life!
Urban Dweller: "I'm a different person when I'm on holidays. We're usually away in the country and the air is clean, I can listen to the birds and trees instead of traffic and the neighbours and look at lush landscapes instead of walls and bitumen. I often take some work with me and I seem to do a better job when the surroundings are so tranquil. I also sleep better and hence feel more energetic and alert."
SKP: "There are no crowds so we're usually able to take our time. Even skiing or golfing we seem to relax- there's no waiting around and no tension to get another run in because we know we can do it again tomorrow. I love painting and being so relaxed has given me so much drive and inspiration. I look out at the view from my window and am engulfed by the beauty of the surrounding mountains and forests. Just looking at them and their changing hues gives me peace. I guess your vacations are like my life at home."
