More Time
South Kootenay Time
Time is something that is precious to many people. It is precious because we never seem to have enough of it. In the South Kootenay, time is a little different than it is elsewhere. The first thing you will notice is that there seems to be more of it. It's like you gain extra time because you need less of it to accomplish more. Less time driving, less time standing in lineups and less time preparing for relaxation and recreational activities.
How SK Time Works
Here is how it works... On South Kootenay time you live closer to work and can be there in minutes. In the summer you will find lunch hour and after work kayakers and swimmers in the Columbia River in Trail, and mountain bikers on the trails in Rossland. In winter you might like to do a little cross country skiing or if you can take a two hour lunch you can take a few runs at the ski hill at the end of town in Rossland. Recreation is on your doorstep; -no need to travel. A simple test to prove the theory of South Kootenay time is to count watches in your hometown, then in the South Kootenay. You will find most of us do not wear watches!
Urban Dweller: "I drive 2 hours in traffic each day and go to the gym for an hour to stay active. It's boring and routine and I am gone from my home for 12 -14 hours a day. My home life suffers and I miss seeing my family & friends & the light of day."
SKP: "My day starts at 6.30 am so that I can fit in a bike ride or a X-country ski before work. The kids walk to school and I work from home so we have plenty of time at the end of the day to head to the lake to go canoeing and swimming and sometimes a picnic dinner. It's easy to catch up with friends because they are usually at the lake also."
